Question: Did I Cause My Child to Have Down syndrome?
All parents wonder if there was something they did or did not do to cause their child to have Down syndrome. Read more to see why this is simply not the case.
Answer:

No, there is absolutely NOTHING that either a mother or a father did or did not do to cause their child to have Down syndrome. While many parents blame themselves and make up causes such as stress or exposure to some substance prenatally, there is no scientific evidence that Down syndrome is due to anything other than a random chromosome misdivision. Down syndrome has been seen in all ethnic groups, religions and races and no preventable cause has ever been found.
